  Curfew clamped in all 10 districts of Kashmir

Srinagar: Fearing large scale violence after Friday prayers, authorities clamped curfew in all the 10 districts of the Valley today. To prevent the spread of passion-stoking rumours and posts on social media by anti-social elements, authorities have suspended all internet and mobile phone connectivity in the Valley.

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away, said State Education Minister Naeem Akhtar. 79-year-old Sayeed, who was airlifted from Srinagar on December 24 and admitted to AIIMS, continued to be in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

  Gunfight underway in Kashmir, top militant likely to be trapped

Srinagar: A gunfight started last evening between holed-up guerrillas and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, said officials. Official sources said top Hizbul commander, Burhan, is also believed to be trapped inside the cordon laid around the area.
